Room Divider: handcrafted in collaboration with Japan-expert Edwin Molenaar

Elisabeth and Victor, the designers behind LINFIN, have unveiled their latest creation: a room divider inspired by their deeply rooted philosophy of ‘beauty with less’. These innovative designers aim to transform a bedroom into a stylish and minimalist oasis with this single piece. The room divider is designed and handmade in collaboration with Dutch woodworker Edwin Molenaar, who has lived and worked in Japan for no less than 30 years. Traditional Japanese materials have been replaced by the natural materials used by design studio LINFIN, including oak wood, 100% pure linen, and vegetable-tanned Italian leather.

This style is characterized by the creation of multifunctional spaces and represents understated luxury; a style that combines beauty and functionality without excess. Molenaar: “These principles align perfectly with the philosophy of LINFIN. It is no coincidence that we found each other for this design project.”
Beauty with Less
Elisabeth and Victor strive not just for designs that last for a moment but for eternity. "Design with attention and respect for the environment is our driving force. We choose materials whose origins we know," emphasizes Elisabeth. To reinforce their 'beauty with less' philosophy, not a single screw is used in the connections between the panels; instead, they have chosen their vegetable-tanned leather, the same material used for their hand-stitched designer bags.
At LINFIN, almost every design is unique. They do not have a large collection; rather, they prefer to work by appointment, allowing them to create unique pieces for interior designers seeking exclusive solutions for their clients.
Currently, there is only one example of the room divider on display in their design studio in Maastricht, located at Lage Kanaaldijk 115.
"Interior Designers and Interior enthusiasts who value sustainability and appreciate craftsmanship and artistry are warmly invited to experience the design themselves."
If the room divider is not quite the right size or color, the designers encourage feedback. They are more than happy to create custom pieces.
